Touring businesses #inFrontenac
Each year the board and staff at the Frontenac CFDC tour some of the businesses that we have had the pleasure of working with. This year’s tour was to see some of the exciting developments in and around Inverary. We started at Mobile Kitchens Canada https://www.mobilekitchenscanada.com/ and learned about some of the fascinating projects that they have been involved with. Mobile Kitchens Canada provides logistics, mobile kitchens and support equipment across North America and the Caribbean. They have been involved in numerous projects ranging from major health care projects to disaster relief such as Katrina to sporting events including the 2010 Olympics.
From there we went to Sonset Farms https://www.sonsetfarm.com/ where the Cumpson family have been farming for over 75 years. They too have some exciting projects underway including the building of a new cow dairy barn and a mill and gravity table to process their organically grown spelt. They sell their organic beef, pork and chicken, eggs and spelt flour at their on-farm store.
The Cookery https://www.facebook.com/lavalleescookery/ which opened this spring in Inverary was the next business we visited. If you haven’t yet been, you should drop by and check out their freshly made take out meals. Yummy. Another retailer to open is Maple Country Home and Farm https://www.facebook.com/maplecountryinverary/ . While their building isn’t quiet yet completed, don’t let that fool you. They are operating out of an on-site trailer and will help you meet your building and farm needs.
Our tour ended in Battersea at the Holiday Country Manor http://holidaycountrymanor.com/ where we enjoyed a lovely dinner.
